As CEO and Chief Consultant at MK Aviation Biz Consultants, Mitch is responsible for over-seeing all required duties to meet the requirements of our client base and managing the Team of Consultants in our portfolio in pursuit of business in the commercial, military and aerospace sectors, both domestically and internationally.
After obtaining his BS Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach, Mitch worked as an MD-11 Flight Test Engineer and a Field Service Rep for Douglas Aircraft Co in Long Beach with a specialized focus on complex avionics and systems related to operational and maintenance support. It was during this time that Mitch obtained his A&P License to bridge the gap from his engineering background to maintenance at both the airframe and component level.
With this type of Field Rep exposure to the daily operations of commercial aircraft around the world, Mitch gained valuable experience from his transition as an Avionics Engineer with liaison duties to base and component maintenance at FedEx Air Operations in Memphis. During this time, Mitch exceled at growing his expertise in component maintenance while performing key roles at the FedEx Component Repair Shop. In addition to his engineering related duties supporting the FedEx fleet, Mitch was instrumental in developing reliability improvement initiatives for avionics & systems components, including Rogue Unit Analysis & Root Cause/Corrective Actions.
Mitch’s FedEx duties led to his participation in numerous industry working groups and sub-committees for ‘best practices’ in airframe & component maintenance. As a result, he was elected to the position of Chairman of the Aviation Maintenance Conference (AMC) for several years. Through his work at AMC, Mitch continued to learn all aspects of the aviation maintenance business which prepared him for his next position at Esterline (a component OEM) as Manager of global aftermarket business development with matrix assignments to Product Support and Repair Shops. While at Esterline, Mitch gained greater experience with negotiation of Product Support Agreements with several Airframe OEMs and managing key contracts with major airline customers.
Mitch’s next role was Director for Business Development at Ametek MRO where he continued to broaden his expertise into yet another aviation discipline – an independent MRO 145 Repair Station. This paved the way for further utilizing his industry knowledge and building customer relationships to assist with ushering in a new era at MK Aviation Biz Consultants.
In his spare time, Mitch enjoys spending time with his family and friends and kayak fishing throughout South Florida’s waterways.
